I know it is a tough job, but someone has to do it! Becky and I went on our annual January search for the perfect hotel in the perfect city for our 2008 Bail USA convention. We had many good options to look into, but ultimately decided on San Antonio, Texas for our convention site.

The hotel that we have chosen is the Hotel Contessa. The hotel is stylish, with all suite accommodations. Many of the rooms overlook the Riverwalk. The hotel has a blend of classic Mediterranean Décor with the latest modern conveniences such high speed internet in each room. For a quick preview check them out at TheHotelContessa.com. For the ladies there is a Spa located in the hotel. If you want a massage during your stay you may want to book that before you leave home to ensure availability. The hotel is a non-smoking hotel. On the third floor there is a very comfortable nice outdoor area for those who smoke.

The city is beautiful and full of excitement, even in January! Make sure upon your arrival that you go on a Riverwalk Boat Tour it is inexpensive and takes approximately 30 minutes. It is a nice way to learn a quick history of the area. Another site you do not want to miss is the Marketplace. This is also walking distance from the hotel or for those who are not in shape like Becky and I, it is a short taxi drive. And while you are in this beautiful city don’t forget to take a walk back in time and visit the Alamo.

Last year I heard that I did not allow enough time for sightseeing. This year we will leave Monday evening open for you to do shopping or dinner on your own. A good authentic Mexican Restaurant is Mi Tierra Cafe. It is located in the same area as the Marketplace. If you like Mexican food you do not want to miss this one. You will feel like you are sitting in a restaurant in Mexico City! So mark you calendar for our 2008 Bail USA convention – October 5, 6th and 7th in San Antonio, Texas.
